Located in the creative hub of the Great Southern and set among beautiful natural surroundings, the Denmark campus provides innovative training to meet the ever-changing needs of its local community.

Highly competent staff with strong teaching skills and broad industry experience deliver practical courses with an emphasis on the creative arts, organic horticulture and individual support (ageing).

South Regional TAFE offers Western Australia’s only horticulture certificate courses run with a focus on organic production. We offer high-quality, client-centred study at our Southern Cross Certified organic training facility, meeting the growing niche for sustainably produced, quality local organic produce.

Services and Facilities

•    Three creative music classrooms
•    An industry grade recording studio
•    Fully equipped computer labs with internet access.
•    A NASAA (National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia) certified organic, biodynamic horticulture vegetable garden.  
•    Two ceramics kilns as well as a functional art room.

 The South Regional TAFE Library and Information Services manage access to training resources across the region to assist you meet your academic goals.

Library services are available to all current South Regional TAFE students and staff. Although the library’s main collections are based at the Bunbury and Albany campuses, all enrolled students and staff members of South Regional TAFE are eligible to request any of the resources from the online catalogue, regardless of location. You can access the Library Website here.

This theory and practical workshop based course starts with the growing and roasting of the beans and leads you through the process of extracting the perfect espresso and making the complete menu of espresso drinks.

You will learn, understand and put into practice the basics of espresso coffee. Also included is coffee cultivation and processing, roasting and blending, different coffee styles, coffee bean storage, grinder setting, adjustment and milk texturing and espresso machine cleaning.

Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems.

It is the harmonious integration of landscape and people — providing their food, energy, shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way.

Design your own propagation program and grow the plants needed for a permaculture food forest in our temperate climate.

Save hundreds of dollars and reduce your carbon footprint by propagating locally sourced plant material and incorporating upcycled materials into your garden system.

Studying one day a week for 9 weeks, you will learn:

  • Plants commonly used in Permaculture systems, and their uses
  • How to grow new plants from cuttings and seed
  • How to propagate plants by grafting, layering and division
  • How to create the optimal growing media for growing permaculture plants
  • How to best care for, water and feed your plants for continued success.

This advanced Skill Set is for people with previous printmaking experience where you can realise a creative project from the germination of an idea to resolved completion… learn how to follow a design process to create what you want.

This course will include fabric printing techniques and non-toxic etching processes. We will look at contemporary approaches to environmental art and installation based artworks, covering both 2D and 3D art making and linking into a wider printmaking community through a print exchange. The course will also include professional artist demonstrations and tuition.

Art Lecturer, Nikki Green has had over 20 years’ experience specialising in printmaking incorporating a blend of traditional and contemporary processes. Her work is collected both nationally and internationally and she brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive networks as well as her contagious passion for the print-medium to all her classes.
