Like to work in restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafes or coffee shops? If you’re a “people person” with a natural flair for dealing with customers and enjoy the cut and thrust of working in busy restaurants or cafés, tropical resorts, bars, nightclubs, hotels or even on an airliner or cruise ship, then a course in hospitality may be ideal for you. Gaining skills in customer service, effective teamwork, hygiene and food safety could give you a great start in this career. Depending on your choice of elective units, you will also learn about accommodation services, commercial cookery and catering, food and beverage, gaming and tourism sales and operations.

Study modes and durations differ depending on your local campus. Please check with your local campus for more information.

This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative. From 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession, plus resource fees and other fees that may apply to your course.
